I have been meaning to upload these photos onto here for a while, whilst we had a sunny-ish spell in Aberdeen; Steve and I visited Castle Fraser, in Kemnay.
I would most definitely recommend this day out if you have time, it is such a beautiful place. There are plenty things to do at Castle Fraser, and some pretty amazing things to discover inside the Castle. My favourite was the room towards the top of the Castle containing all of the war time memorabilia, and I also especially enjoyed going out onto the ledge at the top of the Castle where you could see for miles and miles the beautiful scenery.
In addition to this, there is a hidden Woodland Secrets Play area for children, so if your children do get bored within the Castle, they can always let off some steam at the play area!
At Castle Fraser there is a tea room, and a gift shop which is where you buy your admission tickets for a tour of the castle.
The Opening Times are:
For the Gardens and Grounds: All year, Every day.
For the Castle, Shop and Tea Room:
March 27th - June 30th , Wednesday to Sunday, 12pm-5pm
July 1st to August 31st, Every day, 11am - 5pm
September 1st - 31st October, Wednesday to Sunday, 12pm-5pm
The Restaurant: All year, Thursday to Sunday evenings only, and you have to book: 01467 642834
Unfortunately, but understandably you cannot take photos inside the Castle, but we took plenty of the Gardens and of the Castle for you to enjoy below.

It was a really fun day, and we learned a little bit of Scottish history as each room inside the Castle has an information card explaining a little bit about what it was used for, how the furniture was made and acquired and information about the people who used the rooms.
The photos are obviously courtesy of Steve, he is far more creative with the camera, so enjoy them!
